At Corpus Christi, we don’t just value the views and opinions of children but, we actively seek to include them in the continual development of the school. As mentioned in our school mission statement, we value and respect every child as a unique, special and gifted individual, which makes their voice a vitally important aspect to school life.

We have briefly discussed some of the ways we include pupil voice below:

• School Council – Children meet with a member of staff on a regular scheduled basis throughout the school year. During meetings, they actively discuss Gospel Values and British Values that underpin how we act and treat one another in school.
• Faith Friends – A group of children from across the school meet regularly to discuss the Catholic Life of Corpus Christi.
• Head Boy and Head Girl – Year 6 children are democratically elected to represent every child within Corpus Christi. Our Head Boy and Head Girl are supported by a deputy Head Boy and Head Girl, and all four children act not only as role models but, discuss with adults in school any matters that come to their attention.
• Headstart – A group of children meet with a Headstart representative on a regular basis throughout the year to develop the skills to support the mental health and wellbeing of others in school. They actively feedback after each session what they have learned and any initiatives that might help support children in Corpus Christi.
• SEND Discussions – All children within Corpus Christi who are assessed to require additional support, will meet with their Class Teacher and/or Key Stage SENDCO minimum once a term to discuss their progress, targets, and generally how they are feeling. As part of this meeting, children are always encouraged to talk about the help and support they feel they need and what would help their learning.
