Our class pages provide you with all the information you require while also giving you an insight into what happens on a day-to-day basis in school. We will also be using these pages, along with our social media channels, to allow children the opportunity to showcase some of their fantastic work.
Teaching Staff
This year, Nursery and our 2 Year Old Provision classes will be taught by the fantastic Mrs Garland who will be supported by an incredible team of staff. Please don’t forget to arrange an appointment at all consultation evenings so you can discuss your child’s progress and see their amazing work.
Daily Home Learning Tasks
Children are expected to read to an adult each night. They will be provided with a book at their appropriate level and will be expected to answer questioned based on what they have read. As stated by the Literacy Trust, strong reading skills have been shown to improve children’s academic attainment across a range of subjects, including English, maths and science.
School Uniform and PE Kit
Please ensure that your child wears his/her full uniform, including black shoes, every day in school. We also ask parents to support us by not allowing tramlines in hair or the wearing of earrings and other jewellery. Please ensure your child is always dressed appropriately for the weather, including a waterproof coat and hat, scarf and gloves when necessary. Please make sure all items of clothing are labelled clearly on all tags to prevent any missing items. You can find more information about our school uniform, including our PE kit here.
Educational Visits, Extracurricular Activities and Parental Workshops
Children will have the fantastic opportunity to attend a host of educational visits and extracurricular activities throughout the school year. We often run a selection of courses and workshops that are aimed at both children and families that have proved incredibly popular in recent years. You can use our school calendar to find out more information about upcoming dates or keep up to date with the latest news on our social media channels such as Facebook.
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Provision
We have a commitment to high achievement, and we strive to provide all our children with a quality education regardless of their gender, disability, ethnicity, ability or social background. Some children may have additional educational needs and it is our job to identify these and provide the appropriate support needed to ensure they achieve their full potential.
If you have any concerns about your child, please discuss these immediately with your child’s class teacher who will then inform the SENDCO. You can contact the school office on 01642 211597 and arrange a meeting or phone call at your convenience. The SEND Process that we will follow within school can be viewed below. At Corpus Christi, we value the partnership we have with parents and families of children within school.
