Chess can promote key intellectual skills such as problem solving, logical thinking, pattern recognition and concentration. One of the main traits we aim to develop in all children at Corpus Christi is tenacity and the ability to not only welcome a challenge but, to overcome it. Chess can also develop a child’s character by teaching them how to lose and how to win gracefully, to think ahead and foresee the consequences of their actions.

Chess has been taught in association with CSC – Chess in Schools and Communities.
